Treatment Philosophy

The Toronto OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center is committed to providing treatments that are scientifically proven to work, in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Providing treatment that is welcoming and inclusive, is individualized to each person’s specific needs, and has been proven to be effective are important parts of my therapy philosophy.

The best treatment for you will depend on the goals that you want to address in therapy. My background and training is largely in a type of intervention called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The type of treatment that is often appropriate for OCD is called Exposure and Response Prevention, and this is an area where I have expertise. My practice also incorporates Mindfulness-based treatments, as well as Interpersonal and Emotion-Focused Therapy. There is a lot of research demonstrating the efficacy of these types of treatments in improving symptoms.

According to best practice professional guidelines reflecting the COVID-19 pandemic, all treatment is currently being provided remotely via phone or secure videoconference.
